A welcome from your Governors.

Welcome to the Governors' pages of Seton Community Primary School's website.

My name is Colin Harrison and I am the current Chair of the Governing Body.   I have served on the governing body since 2009 and I became Chair in 2018.

Working with the Head Teacher and staff at Seton School, all governors have a legal responsibility to ensure the effective management of the school.

Governors help to decide school policy and share responsibility for the management of the school.  They advise, support and challenge the headteacher and staff, working with the school to meet the needs of the children, whilst ensuring that the school provides good value for money.  Governors help the headteacher in the selection of staff and act as a link between the school and the community.

If you are interested in joining our governing body, please contact the school office to find out more.  We currently have vacancies for two parent governors.  Nomination forms and further information about the role of a parent governor are available from the school office.  They can also be downloaded via the following links:

Parent Governor Nomination Form                            Becoming a Parent Governor

The closing date for nominations is Monday, June 17th 2019.

If you would like to contact a governor, this can be done through the school office.  Letters marked for the attention of a governor will be passed on in confidence.
