Dear Parents/Carers of Class 1 children,

We have sent home a learning pack to keep our Nursery and Reception children busy. Please encourage your child to work through the activities at a reasonable pace. The pack for Reception children also includes a log on for Numbots if you have access to the internet at home. Here they can access a range of mathematical games https://play.numbots.com/#/account/school-login/21149

Please continue using Tapestry and share any learning with us from home. We will frequently use Tapestry to send learning challenges for your children to complete at home.

Thank you for sharing pictures through Tapestry of all the wonderful things you have done at home. I hope you all have a lovely Easter break and manage to enjoy this extra time together. You know how much all the teachers is class 1 love chocolate so hopefully we'll get a visit from the Easter bunny. We want you to have fun and make the most of this new way of life. Get yourselves outside in the garden if you can or go for your daily walk and enjoy the world around you. We won't be posting anymore challenges until after the Easter break. We will start our learning challenges again on Monday 20th April.

 Happy Easter!

Hi everyone,

For our reception children we have decided to use the content provided by the Oak National Academy. The National Academy is a new collection of high-quality lessons and online resources. Backed by the Government, it has been created in response to the coronavirus lockdown.

The online classroom offers free access to great teachers, delivering video lessons, quizzes and worksheets. Available for both primary and secondary levels, it covers a range of subjects. All of the lessons are ordered so your child can learn along a clear plan. They’ll provide new lessons and resources each week. When entering the site click the schedule tab at top of the page and this will take you through to the correct page. Then choose reception and you will be provided with a weekly plan of three lessons per day. Pick and choose from the lessons as you wish. We will also continue to post a learning challenge through Tapestry everyday for both nursery and reception children, if you wish to complete something less formal. As always these ideas are just suggestions and are there for you to use if you want to.

Dear Parents/Carers of Reception children,

Please continue to keep using the daily content provided by the Oak National Academy https://www.thenational.academy/online-classroom/reception/#schedule

At Seton we adhere to the Read Write Inc programme when teaching phonics. If you follow the link below they are providing daily lessons on their YouTube channel. I have let you know via Tapestry which sounds your child needs to focus on. I have attached a timetable here which indicates which sound will be taught each day.

The following link will get you to the YouTube channel. https://www.ruthmiskin.com/en/find-out-more/help-during-school-closure/

As always please don't feel you need to complete all of these activities but they are there if you need them. I will no longer be posting a daily challenge for Reception children, as feel there is enough to be getting on with here.

Thank you for your continued support
