 July 2020

Hi everyone,

For our Reception children we are continuing to use the content provided by the Oak National Academy. The National Academy is a new collection of high-quality lessons and online resources. Backed by the Government, it has been created in response to the Coronavirus lockdown.

The online classroom offers free access to great teachers, delivering video lessons, quizzes and worksheets. Available for both primary and secondary levels, it covers a range of subjects. All of the lessons are ordered so your child can learn along a clear plan. They’ll provide new lessons and resources each week. When entering the site click the schedule tab at top of the page and this will take you through to the correct page. Then choose reception and you will be provided with a weekly plan of three lessons per day. Pick and choose from the lessons as you wish.

At Seton we adhere to the Read Write Inc programme when teaching phonics. If you follow the link below they are providing daily lessons on their YouTube channel. The following link will get you to the YouTube channel. https://www.ruthmiskin.com/en/find-out-more/help-during-school-closure/

As always please don't feel you need to complete all of these activities but they are there if you need them. We will also continue to post a learning challenge through Tapestry everyday for our nursery children. Please keep sending through your wonderful pictures/videos of all the wonderful learning going on at home.

In preparation for when we return to school please could you send through a picture of one of your favorite lockdown memories. We are going to create a display in class 1 ready for when the children all return, as we hope to use this as a talking point. Please send the pictures via Tapestry.

Thank you for your continued support
